Landscape

The watershed is located 1050 km NE of Quebec City. The landscape is hilly with deep valleys and steep hillslopes. Surficial deposits are composed of deep tills underlying sandy, stony, loam soils. The geology is composed of metamorphic and igneous rocks characteristic of the Precambrian Shield. Dominate boreal forest species include a mix of blasam fir, white birch, white spruce and black spruce. The local climage is characterized by humid microthermal with cool summers. The hydrograph is snowmelt dominated.
