Landscape

The Tirasse watershed is located within the hilly topography of the Central Laurentian Mountains, in the Ashuapmushuan wildlife reserve. The first order stream is headed with a small open bog at the source; there is no lake within the watershed boundaries. The forest is a mix of even aged jack pine and black spruce. Soils are sandy tills on top of Precambrian charneckitic gneiss. The hydrograph is snowmelt and rain dominated.
