Landscape

This third order stream drains through fairly rugged terrain composed of flat plateaus and deeply incised valley's. Spring snowmelt and fall storms dominate the hydrograph. Baseflow is maintained during the drier summer months by headwater wetland complexes. Soils are well drained tills mixed with gravels and sands through the valley bottom, and scattered bogs in the uplands. Soils are underlain by granite and gneiss bedrock. The forest is dominated by uneven aged Black Spruce stands.
